After the cast of 'Glee' tweeted a lot of lovable photos with our favorite Wookie, Chewbacca a few weeks ago, Gleeks were left wondering what Chewbacca was up to on set. So when AOL TV got Harry Shum Jr. on the phone last week, we had to ask for some scoop about his furry encounter with the 'Star Wars' star.
"It was incredibly awesome," Shum said. "It was a huge surprise."
Why was Chewie there? Warning, minor spoilers below.
"He makes an appearance into Artie's dream in a way," Shum said. "I can't really delve into the details, but it's something to do with Artie."
It turns out Chewie entertained the very excited 'Glee' cast and crew, but left before some of the stars hit the set.
"Half of us came in right after he was done and it was like a mad house," he said. "Everyone's face was so happy. They were showing off their pictures."
Not one to deprive its cast of a Wookie enouncter, the powers that be at 'Glee' brought Chewbacca back.
"They actually got him to come back to take pictures with us, too," he said with a laugh. "We were soooo angry that we didn't get a picture with Chewbacca. It was so funny how many people actually love Chewbacca."
