Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley to mentor on 'The Glee Project'

Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Amber Riley and Darren Criss are set to appear on The Glee Project's current second season.

The Oxygen reality programme consists of contestants auditioning for a role in the Fox show Glee.

The winner's prize is an appearance on the popular show in a seven-episode arc during the next season.

Glee stars Lynch, Colfer, Riley and Criss will act as mentors to the season two contestants, according to TV Line.

Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on Glee, previously made a cameo on season two.

The Glee Project airs on Tuesdays at 10pm ET on Oxygen.

Last month, Glee wrapped up its third season with a high school graduation.

'The Inbetweeners Movie' to get US release in September

Hit comedy The Inbetweeners Movie will be released in the US this September.

The film, released in the UK last year, became one of the highest-grossing British comedy movies of all time.

Following the successful screening of the TV series on BBC America, it has been announced that Wrekin Hill Entertainment will bring the newly-named The Inbetweeners to cinemas across the US on September 7.

The Playlist revealed a new poster for the film with the tagline 'Out of school. Out of the country. Out of their league'.

Creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley said of the announcement: "We're delighted that our film is being released by Wrekin Hill in the US, and hope that in the year of the Jubilee and Olympics it can go some way towards restoring a balanced view of the British.

"In the UK, [The Inbetweeners Movie] spent as long at the top of the box office as the final Harry Potter film," the pair continued, "And we will be delighted if Americans take these four other British teenagers to their hearts in the same way."

Chris Ball, head of Wrekin Hill Entertainment, added: "We think American audiences will be equally charmed and 'offended' by this film."

Mark-Paul Gosselaar defends 'Saved by the Bell' comments

Mark-Paul Gosselaar has come out to defend his recent comments about sitcom Saved by the Bell.

The 38-year-old actor starred on the hit series from 1989 to 1993, playing troublemaker Zack Morris.

In a recent interview, Gosselaar said that the show was not great, describing the writing as "kind of hokey" and "very much a piece of that time".

Fans of the show blasted the Franklin & Bash star for his comments, which he now insists were taken out of context.

He told TMZ that he's still fond of the show despite what he maintains was bad writing.

"That's why people like it," he explained, "I wasn't saying it was a bad show, just that the writing reflected [the era it was produced]."

Gosselaar added that he was proud of the show and "bummed" by the fan reaction to his comments.

He added: "Everything I've ever done after the show has pointed to me having nothing but respect for it."

The writer of the original Yahoo! interview has responded to Gosselaar's claims that his words were twisted, saying "I stand by my story 100%", and adding that Gosselaar's statement was a direct quote that was recorded on tape.

Gosselaar was recently up for a proposed Saved by the Bell reunion, which was later halted by former castmate Tiffani Thiessen.

'Fringe' digital comic comes to print

The Fringe digital comic will receive a print collection.

DC Comics has announced a graphic novel of its tie-in series Beyond the Fringe for September.

"I'm a huge fan of Fringe," Invader Zim creator Jhonen Vasquez, who penned several instalments of the 12-part comic series, told TV Guide.

"So I kept my story pretty anchored to the show. I didn't have characters flying around or becoming ninjas."

The comic also featured a storyline written by Fringe star Joshua Jackson, as well as artistic contributions by Becky Cloonan (Conan the Barbarian).

The Beyond the Fringe collection will be released on September 5.

Big Brother Deana, Lauren and Benedict accuse Becky of being a mole

Big Brother housemates Deana Uppal, Ashleigh Hughes and Benedict Garrett have lightheartedly accused wildcard entry Becky Hannon of being a Big Brother mole.

After Becky enquired as to what Deana and Ashleigh were talking about, Deana responded: "You, Becky - you're the bloody mole!"

An outraged Becky shot back: "What, you think I'm a mole? I'm 100% not a mole", to which Deana quickly replied, grumbling: "I'm joking, bloody hell."

The housemates then discussed potential twists that Big Brother may have in store for them, with Deana suggesting that two of the housemates may actually be a couple.

Becky then said she wished there was a mole, to which Benedict responded: "It'd make things more interesting wouldn't it? If someone just came out and went, 'Actually, I work for Endemol, and will disappear later'."

Wildcard entry Becky is currently on a secret mission from Big Brother - if she is named as a favourite housemate before the nominations on Friday, she will be immune from this week's eviction.

However, if nobody names her as a favourite she will be automatically nominated.

'X Factor' USA stand-in Louis Walsh teased by judges Demi and Britney

Judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have teased Louis Walsh about filling in for Simon Cowell on The X Factor USA.

The panellists, who are both new to the show, took to Twitter yesterday (June 8) to joke about Louis's relative anonymity in the US.

"Yeah, substitute teacher!!" tweeted Lovato, after the official X Factor USA account announced that Walsh would be taking Cowell's place due to illness.

Spears pretended that she thought Walsh was a reality star, saying: "Louis? That guy is on the real housewives or something... right? (sic)"

Spears and Lovato eventually made amends with Walsh, with Spears tweeting: "Just kidding! Love Louis. Met him at @TheXFactor in the UK! Welcome to the @TheXFactorUSA gang."

She then posted a picture of herself and the British X Factor judges (including Walsh) taken after her performance on the show in 2008.

However, the popstars later made it clear that their allegiance lies with Cowell.

"I can't believe I'm actually saying this... but I miss @SimonCowell," posted Spears. "Hope you feel better soon!"

Katy Perry: 'I turned down X Factor judging role'

Katy Perry has suggested that she was offered a judging role on The X Factor, but turned it down.

The 'Firework' singer told The Graham Norton Show that she had been approached by talent show executives, but had declined their offers.

"There's (sic) not actual paper contracts," she explained, "But people have been interested in me judging other people."

Perry was rumoured to have been considered by Simon Cowell as a replacement for former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland, who announced she had left the show in April.

Perry previously stood in for a pregnant Dannii Minogue during the open audition stages of the 2010 contest. The star said that she feels she is too early in her career to be judging the talents of others, but has not ruled out taking on a panel role in the future.

"I would do it but I'm just not ready for it yet. Maybe in the future, I would love to," she added.

'Coronation Street' Ryan Thomas, Alan Halsall sign new contracts

Coronation Street stars Ryan Thomas and Alan Halsall have renewed their contracts, meaning the pair will stay with the soap for another year.

Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw, is said to have bought a talking bird to make the occasion. The actor, who has played builder Jason for over 12 years, has apparently named his pet 'Norris' after the nosey Corrie character.

Halsall, who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs, revealed his good news on Twitter yesterday (June 9). He joked that while he may be delighted to be returning to the Street next year, Natalie Gumede, who plays his pregnant on-screen girlfriend Kirsty Soames, might not be so pleased.

"Exclusive! Ha not much of 1. I'm delighted to say I signed my new contract 2day @ corrie!" he wrote. "Good news if ya a fan but not for @NatalieGumede x"

The pair have been involved in a domestic abuse storyline, in which Tyrone has fallen victim to Kirsty's temper.

"Tyrone is one of the Street's most-loved characters so there was no way Phil was going to let [Halsall] go anywhere," an ITV source told the paper.

"He has big plans for him and Natalie."

The source also revealed that Thomas had been given a new nickname after news of his new pet spread on set.

"Ryan is over the moon to be staying," they said.

"He celebrated by buying a cockatiel... it's all he's been talking about. Some of the cast have even nicknamed him Captain Hook."

The insider added: "Jason's a really popular character, particularly with female viewers, so fans will be pleased to hear he is staying on."

IATSE Union Ends Strike, Will Organize TNT’s ‘The Great Escape’

Seven hours after declaring a strike against the TNT show "The Great Escape," the IATSE union struck an agreement with the production company to organize the show's workers.

"IATSE and Profiles Television Productions have reached an agreement," the union said in a statement. The crew was picketed for seven hours today in Santa Clarita, Calif., where the show is shooting at the Placerita Canyon Power Plant.

The crew is now back at work.

Previously:

The IATSE union went on strike against TNT's "The Great Escape" on Saturday after declaring the show's producer, Profiles Entertainment, an unfair employer.

A spokesman for Profiles Entertainment could not immediately be reached for comment.

In a news release,  the International Alliance of Theatrical Artists (IATSE ) said: “A picket line has been set up at the Placerita Power Plant, current location of the show, at 20885 Placerita Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91321.  The picket line will be in place all day today, Saturday, June 9.”

IATSE declared Profiles Entertainment an unfair employer on Saturday for allegedly obstructing union organizing efforts.

"The Great Escape" is also produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine TV, Fox TV Studios, and creators Justin Hochberg and Charlie Ebersol.

The IATSE is an International Union that represents members employed in the stagecraft, motion picture and television production, and trade show industries throughout the United States, its Territories, and Canada.

'True Blood': What You Need to Know to Watch Season 5

The vampires and werewolves are ready to rise again.

"True Blood's" fifth season starts on Sunday and, the teasers promise, "Everything’s at stake.” HBO's campy hit hopes to reignite viewers' interest by stalling some overdone storylines and introducing some new undeads and full-mooners.

And with Marnie and the witches out (as well as Sophie-Anne, Claudine, Tommy Mickens, Jesus, Nan, Marcus and Debbie Pelt), there’s ample room for some fresh meat.

In the first episode we meet prominent werewolf newcomers: powerful Martha (Marcus’ mother, played by Dale Dickey) and beautiful Rikki (Kelly Overton), out to avenge the murder of their packmaster.

Alexander Skarsgard's Eric gets some new friends in high places with the introduction of Nora (Lucy Griffiths), an agent of The Authority. And though he doesn’t make an appearance in the premiere, Scott Foley returns for part of the season as Terry Bellefleur’s former military buddy Patrick who wants answers to a lot of questions.

It’s been teased plenty that Dennis O’Hare is back as vampire Russell, and Christopher Meloni (left) is also joining the cast as Roman, an all powerful vampire of The Authority.

While neither is in the premiere, they’re going to be the major source of tension for our favorite vamps.

Speaking of favorite vamps, witches, werewolves and, yes, humans, here’s a recap of where we left off and what to expect with the other Bon Temps residents who had key roles in the finale:

SOOKIE

Where we left off: The ghost of Gran reminded her she’s better off alone -- so she simultaneously rejected both Eric and Bill. Last seen, she was in her kitchen, clutching Tara, who'd just been shot by Tara.

What to expect:  It’s time for Sooki to figure out things completely on her own -- without the men or Tara.  Alcide did say he loved her, so expect some quality sexual tension there all season. She hasn’t worked at Merlotte’s or used her fairy powers in ages, so it goes without saying she’ll be donning her signature apron and channeling fireballs soon.

ERIC/BILL

Where we left off: They were burning at the stake (naturally shirtless), but Sookie saved them -- and despite Bill's "blessing," rejected them both.

What to expect:  After getting dumped and almost dying at the same time, a real bromance is brewing with these two. Between The Authority and Russell’s return, they will have their hands full this season.

JASON/JESSICA:

Where we left off: Jessica’s grown out of her innocent phase and is a full-on vampire, donning a sexy outfit and seducing Jason only to remind him it’s just sex. He thinks she’s coming back for more when he’s surprised at his front door by his former church cult leader Steve Newlin.

What to expect:  Teaser stills revealed Steve's back as a vampire -- but what does he want from Jason? Help? His six pack? Or just his blood? The first episode answers the initial question, but Steve won’t be gone that easy. With Sookie “over” Eric and Bill, expect the Jason/Jessica/Hoyt love triangle to be one of the main sources of sexual tension (and gratuitous sex scenes) for the season.

TARA

Where we left off: She was shot by Debbie in Sookie’s kitchen.

What to expect: Well, actress Rutina Wesley has confirmed she’s coming back for Season 5, but in what capacity is still unclear. It’d be a twist of irony if the one character who despises vampires the most had to become one herself … or since ghosts played a big role last scene, even if she “dies” all hope is not lost.

PAM

Where we left off: She’s pissed as hell at Sookie for the way she treats Eric but is determined to make up with him no matter what it takes.

What to expect: Series creator Alan Ball has revealed there will be flashbacks explaining her vampire origins this season -- it also will be revealed reveal why she feels so strongly about Eric as her maker. Also expect her much-needed comic relief to continue with enough witty one-liners to fill Facebook status updates and Twitter feeds for days.

As far as the others, Terry’s hiding a big secret about the fire, and Arlene is being visited and given ominous warnings from Rene’s ghost. Sam will do anything to protect Luna/Emma and even cover up the fact that Alcide murdered Marcus. Lafayette lost his boyfriend, his sister and had the demon beat out of him. He’s going to be a mess for a while.
