Survivor's Keith Addresses Rumors About Dating Whitney; Jim on Lying About His Profession
Survivor's Keith Addresses Rumors About Dating Whitney; Jim on Lying About His Profession
The past two episodes of Survivor: South Pacific have really thrown us for a loop. Are the producers finally bored of the repetition after 23 seasons? One week no one goes home, the next week, two get knocked out at once. That unfortunate duo happened to be Keith Tollefson (he's the hot one who didn't say much), and Jim Rice (he's the forensic science teacher medical marijuana dispenser who everyone thought was creepy). TVGuide.com got the chance to chat with the former Savaii tribe members about how it feels to be on the jury, what they missed most on the island, and who they plan to give the $1 million prize to. Bonus: Keith (sort of) addresses rumors that he's dating Whitney!
What did it feel like the first time you were sitting in the jury, facing your former tribe members with the knowledge that you were no longer in the game?
Keith: It was one of the toughest feelings that I've ever had to deal with in my life. You have the highest of highs when you win and the lowest of lows when you lose. I've never had a lower feeling ... the moment when you put your buff in the fire.
Jim: You're sitting on the sidelines. Yeah, you still get to watch the game and you still have an impact, but the shower and everything felt so great afterward but when I came back in and I saw how dirty everyone was, I just wanted to be dirty again and sleeping on bamboo. It's painful.Who would you give the million to at this moment?
Jim: We want to see one of our Savaii do well. Other than that, it's tough to say. I will say this — throughout the whole jury process my mind was completely open.
Jim, I hate to say it, but a lot of the castoffs I've spoken to were united on one front: They didn't like you. Why?
Jim: Because I got them voted off. I don't really feel a whole lot of remorse.
I think part of it was that you claimed you were a forensic science teacher when you're actually a medical marijuana dispenser. What was your rationale behind lying?
Jim: One hundred percent had to do with the endgame. I didn't think that somebody would give me a million dollars over a Mormon mother with six adopted children. And that's really all that it had to do with.
Keith, did you ever doubt Jim's story?
Keith: I definitely believed it. I had some very strong suspicions it wasn't the whole story but at that point it didn't really matter to me. We just played strategy the entire time. We didn't talk about it.
What was the most unexpected part of the experience for each of you? Jim: How much the paranoia, the lack of food, and the lack of sleep gets to you.
Keith: It was hard in the sense that being on a tribe with a returning player, we'd be the secondary cast compared to him. When you have to play with a returning player, you can't truly play your game 100 percent because we have to realize the impact of the veteran. I also didn't anticipate that the tribe was going to become like a family. You develop feelings for everyone.
Speaking of developing feelings ... you and Whitney. Are you dating? Keith: Unfortunately I can't really talk about that right now. Obviously the finale is the place where everyone's questions can be answered. She's still in the game right now, so ...
What comforts of home did you miss on the island?
Keith: Mine is pretty easy — a blanket! I was freezing! You take things for granted. Just getting out of the water and not being able to wipe your face off on a towel.
Jim: A blanket was going to me by answer! You think it's tropical? We were shivering. Also a pillow. I know that sounds weird.
Jim, I feel like we really got to know you on the show. But Keith, you didn't seem to have much air time. Were you disappointed when you watched the episodes?
Keith: I was extremely surprised. I definitely feel like I got a little bit of a shaft on editing. But it's understandable. You have some pretty strong players. Jim is a loud mouth and he's obviously going to take my air time.

Jonathan Ross Renews £2m Deal With ITV
Jonathan Ross Renews £2m Deal With ITV
Jonathan Ross has extended his deal with ITV for a further three series of his chat show.
The TV host took his show to ITV1 in September after many years on BBC One, following the end of his lucrative deal with the corporation.
The new deal - said to be worth just under £2 million - will see three new 10-part series in 2012 and 2013, plus Christmas specials.
Jonathan was already committed to at least one further run of the Saturday night chat programme - and a festive edition - under his initial deal.
The first series pulled in an average of 4.1 million viewers with guests such as Lewis Hamilton and Lady Gaga.
Jonathan left the BBC in the wake of the furore over the Sachsgate scandal which led to him being suspended for three months for his part in the leaving of smutty phone messages for veteran actor Andrew Sachs during a radio show.
He said: "I am thrilled to be signing again for ITV. It's like that stage in a relationship when you've been leaving a few clothes over every time you stay, and they finally give you a door key."
Elaine Bedell, ITV's director of entertainment and comedy, said: "Jonathan remains one of the biggest talents on UK television and his first series for us shows that our ITV audience has enthusiastically welcomed him back to our television screens, doing what he does best."
Jonathan's Christmas special this year will feature Hollywood star Tom Cruise.

Vic Reeves And Bob Mortimer's 'Shooting Stars' Axed By BBC
Vic Reeves And Bob Mortimer's 'Shooting Stars' Axed By BBC
The BBC has "cancelled" Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's surreal panel show Shooting Stars.
The show began life as a 1993 Christmas special and then ran for five series until 1997, with comedian Mark Lamarr as one of the team captains - a position later filled by novelist Will Self.
Other regulars included "big baby" scorer George Dawes, played by Matt Lucas, and team captain "Ulrika-ka-ka-ka-ka" Jonsson.
The show was brought back for another run in 2009.
Mortimer tweeted the news, telling fans: "BBC have just cancelled shooting stars".
A BBC spokeswoman said: "In future there will be less space on BBC Two for comedy/entertainment panel shows so sadly Shooting Stars won't be returning. We'd like to thank Vic and Bob for everything they've brought to the channel over the years."

Cameron Monaghan On 'Shameless' Season 2 And Playing Ukelele With William H. Macy
Cameron Monaghan On 'Shameless' Season 2 And Playing Ukelele With William H. Macy
It's been a long wait for fans of Showtime's hit show "Shameless," but the loveably dysfunctional Gallagher family will be making their rowdy return to cable in January -- and Cameron Monaghan promises more family antics than ever. Monaghan, 18, plays closeted gay teenager Ian Gallagher, the third-oldest Gallagher sibling. But just because he's the most orderly Gallagher doesn't mean he's perfect. In fact, the words "perfect" and "Gallagher" will never be used in the same sentence again.
Ian smokes, curses like a sailor, loves porn and has lots of sex -- with his married Muslim boss Kash (Pej Vahdat). Typical teenage boy stuff, right? Last season ended with Ian being arrested after being caught in a stolen car with his older brother Lip (Jeremey Allen White). The Huffington Post caught up with Monaghan to give us some shameless scoop on Season 2.
So the last time we saw Ian, he had just spent the night in jail with Lip. Where are things going to pick up in Season 2?
Season 2 picks up in the summertime. When we left off, it was winter, so now we flash-forward five or six months, and we pick up with the Gallaghers where they currently are. It's hot, it's sticky, and it's summer so everyone is out of the house. Everyone is kind of getting into trouble and doing their own things. It's a little bit more laid back because everyone is out of school. We're all doing odds jobs, trying to save up money for the upcoming fall when we're all going to be back in school, and it's going to be cold and miserable. So it's really just us enjoying our last few months of summer.
But Ian's still going to be getting himself into trouble like always, right?
Oh, definitely. More now than ever.
What about his love life this season? What's going on between him and Kash?
We pick back up where he is about to be re-released from juvie, and he's still with Kash at the time, but basically it's going to focus a lot on him coming into his own, with his relationships and his sexuality. You see that he starts realizing what he wants and what's right for him. That will also cause a lot of problems for him too. There's a lot of really fun stuff in store for him this season.
Now, there are some shows on network television, like "Glee" and "Modern Family," that have gay characters that are really flamboyant and somewhat feminine, but what I love about Ian is that he's totally different from that. Was that important for you?
It's definitely important for me. I think the gay community, just like anybody, should be represented in all forms and all types. I know gay men who are flamboyant like that, but I also know plenty of gay guys who are just like Ian, and the point is that you don't know. You can't just look at someone and guess their sexuality. There's no point in assuming that every gay man has just one personality type. No, everyone has an extremely multifaceted personality, and Ian is one of them.
What's the chemistry on set? You all work so well as one dysfunctional unit.
In many ways, I think the Gallaghers are extremely functional. The kids, especially, are more functional than a lot of families because they've had to be so close to survive. Obviously, with their parents, they've never had a good connection. In reality we are a family, just like we are on the show. We really do care about each other. We've become a tight group, and we genuinely enjoy spending time together.
What about William H. Macy? Is he the best crazy drunken dad ever?
Oh man, he's fantastic, both to work with and to spend time around. He's so unlike Frank. He's a family man, completely grounded and focused on his work. He's so passionate about the show too. I've always been a fan, so it's nice to finally work with him and also realize that he's a really nice guy too. He wrote an episode this season, and I found that really interesting because I'm really interested in writing and want to get into that. So I've talked to him a lot about the writer's process, and I got an inside scoop on the writers' room for our show. I got to learn how everything works, so it was awesome to get some advice from him about that.
Have you written any screenplays yet, or is there anything in the works?
I haven't written any yet. Right now, I'm more focused on short story writing and poetry, but I have a lot of ideas for scripts in my head. I think I'm going to have to start working on them.
Do you charm the ladies with your poetry?
Ah, yes, I have been known to do that once or twice.
So do you have any other hidden talents? I know you play the guitar.
I do play the guitar, and I can sing, but just enough to carry a tune. I try to keep myself busy. I actually just started playing the ukelele. Bill (Macy) always brings his ukelele to set, so he's gotten the entire cast into playing it.
What song are you learning right now?
What am I playing right now? I don't know. I've been playing "Pumped Up Kicks" and a lot of Foster the People songs on it.

The 'This Morning' co-host - who sensationally quit her role on ITV 1's 'Dancing On Ice' yesterday (18.11.11) and was replaced by Christine Bleakley - decided to take on the new show, which sees hopefuls perform for the judges without them seeing their face, on the BBC because she "wanted a new challenge more than money".
A source told the Daily Mirror: "Holly's new deal with the BBC will be worth around £450,000 but it is more about the show than the money, otherwise she could have stayed at ITV.
"She and the BBC hope The Voice will be the biggest show of 2012. Holly has experience hosting 'The Xtra Factor' and she was always good at talking to and comforting the contestants.
"She is very excited and can't wait to get started."
As yet, 'Pricetag' singer Jessie J is the only celebrity judge signed up to 'The Voice'.
Meanwhile, Holly took to her twitter account last night to wish new 'Dancing On Ice' presenter Christine - who will co-host the show with Phillip Schofield - well on the show.
She wrote: "Good luck to Christine Bleakley on this year's Dancing on Ice. It's a truly magical show and you will love it. I'll miss you all very much!"

BBC and HBO line up Wolf Hall drama
BBC and HBO line up Wolf Hall drama
Four-part adaptation of Hilary Mantel's historical novel would be broadcast on BBC2
The BBC and HBO are developing a TV drama mini-series adaptation of Hilary Mantel's Man Booker prize-winning historical novel Wolf Hall.
Peter Straughan, whose writing credits include the recent Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy movie, is working on scripts for a four-parter which, if commissioned, would be broadcast on BBC2, the BBC has confirmed.
Wolf Hall is a fictional biography set in the first half of the 16th century, charting the rise to power of Thomas Cromwell in the court of Henry VIII.
Cromwell was involved in arranging Henry's divorce from Catherine of Aragon and his marriage to Anne Boleyn, and the English church's break with Rome and the dissolution of the monasteries. He later fell out with Henry and was executed.
Mantel revealed earlier this week that she is planning a Tudor trilogy, with a second novel, Bring Up the Bodies, to be published next year focusing on Anne Boleyn. The third book, The Mirror & the Light, will see Cromwell's story through until his execution in 1540.
The TV adaptation is being developed by Company Pictures, the UK independent producer behind Shameless, Skins and The Shadow Line, and Playground Entertainment, the US company set up by former HBO Films president Colin Callender.

New Sci-Fi Show Neverland
Neverland, a prequel to author J.M. Barrie's classic, Peter Pan, sweeps in time from the turbulent seas of the pirates of the Caribbean and the back alleys of Dickensian London to a world of pure imagination. The cast includes Rhys Ifans (Pirate Radio, Notting Hill) as James Hook, Oscar nominee Keira Knightley as the voice of Tinker Bell, Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) as Captain Elizabeth Bonny, Oscar nominee Bob Hoskins as Smee (who previously played the character in Steven Spielberg's feature, Hook), Raoul Trujillo (Tin Man) and Charlie Rowe (Pirate Radio) as one of literature's most cherished characters, Peter Pan.
Peter (Rowe), along with his pals of young pickpockets, have been rounded up by their mentor Jimmy Hook (Ifans) to snatch a magical orb which transports them to another world - Neverland. Filled with white jungles and imposing cities formed out of trees created by Dr. Fludd (Dance) and inhabited by a colony of tree spirits led by Tinker Bell (Knightley), this mysterious realm welcomes unknown friends and enemies snatched from time. These include power-mad Elizabeth Bonny (Friel) and her band of 18th century pirates who search for the answer to eternal youth, a secret guarded by a Holy Man (Trujillo). As the fight to save this strange and beautiful world escalates, Peter and his crew consider that growing old somewhere in time could be less important than growing up—right here in their new home called Neverland.
Neverland premieres on Syfy on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 9/8 and Monday, Dec 5 at 9/8c.

Red Dwarf will return in 2012
Red Dwarf will return in 2012
Speaking on BBC Radio 2, Craig Charles stated that two new series were being produced, and that filming begins in November 2011. Chris Barrie then revealed that the new series will be counted as series X. However, a post on the official Red Dwarf website on 11 June 2010 stated that nothing had yet been confirmed. On 21 January 2011 it was confirmed that a new series will be filmed in late 2011 to be broadcast in 2012 on the digital channel Dave. However, UKTV, owners of Dave, had initially refused to comment, suggesting that it a new series had not been officially greenlit, but on 10 April 2011, UKTV confirmed that a new series of Red Dwarf will be produced and again air exclusively on Dave.
While attending Dimension Jump XVI, Red Dwarf's co-creator, writer, director and executive producer Doug Naylor also confirmed to fans that a new series of Red Dwarf would be aired on Dave in 2012, with filming taking place in late 2011 and early 2012. Filming on the tenth series is due to begin at the the end of November. On 8 September 2011, UKTV again confirmed, via the Dave website, that Red Dwarf would be back for a full length series in 2012 exclusively on Dave, also stating that they would keep fans up to date with production via the Dave website.
The series will consist of six episodes, and will return to being recorded in front of a studio audience.
Confirmation and dates of taping for filming of series 10 was announced on 11 November 2011. The series will consist of 6 episodes and be filmed in front of a live studio audience. Filming is set to begin 16 December 2011 and run through the end of January of 2012.

'Castle' gets serious: How did you like 'Kill Shot'?
'Castle' gets serious: How did you like 'Kill Shot'?
"Castle" is known for its crazy cases and abundance of puns. Or maybe those are just our favorite parts. Either way, "Kill Shot" was one of the most serious and emotional episodes of the series, and we're happy to say it pulled off drama without a hitch.
It's not like this was the first time "Castle" has tackled a serious topic -- the increasingly tense episodes surrounding Beckett's mom's murder at the end of Season 2, culminating in the Captain's murder and then Beckett's shooting, have all been a great change of pace from the funny investigations we're used to -- but this is one of the best times.
Stana Katic's performance of the PTSD-afflicted Beckett was as emotionally affecting as we expected after speaking with the actress. Our favorite scene: After the third shooting, when Beckett runs into a bathroom, tosses down her gun, jacket and badge, and starts crying. Not a TV-pretty cry, a straight-up relatable, heaving, ugly cry. (Side note: We're pretty sure the acting chops of an actress are directly related to her ability to ugly cry. Some of TV's best: Claire Danes and Mae Whitman. YouTube it if you don't believe us.)
The scenes between Esposito (Jon Huertas) and Beckett were touching and gentle, and the rest of the team trying to figure out how to deal with Beckett's breakdown were excellent. We definitely felt the love between Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett, and we can't wait until the romance Katic alluded to in our interview comes to fruition.

BBC1 to air All Creatures Great and Small prequel at Christmas
BBC1 to air All Creatures Great and Small prequel at Christmas
Young Herriot to focus on vet's years in 1930s Glasgow, continuing small-screen trend for prequels
Twenty-one years after James Herriot last put his hand up the back end of a cow, the much-loved vet is returning to the small screen this Christmas in a spin-off of All Creatures Great and Small.
But viewers of BBC1's Young Herriot will see the Yorkshire Dales swapped for urban deprivation in 1930s Glasgow as the drama follows the young vet as he learns his trade at college alongside his close friends, feminist Whirly Tyson and aristocrat Rob McAloon.
In its heyday, All Creatures Great and Small, based on the diaries of real-life vet Alf Wight, who wrote under the pseudonym James Herriot, pulled in audiences of about 13 million. It was broadcast by the BBC between 1977 and 1990.
Young Herriot is part of a trend for telling the story of popular TV and film characters in their youth. ITV is making a prequel to Inspector Morse called Endeavour, while the BBC put the early years of Only Fools and Horses in the spotlight in Rock & Chips. And from the US there is a plan for a prequel to Sex and the City.
Young Herriot executive producer Cameron Roach said he thought the trend was due to the recession and nostalgia.
"We've discussed this and think that in these kinds of recessionary times, people want the reassurance of a product that they know," Roach said. "They want to go on a journey during a series but ultimately know it's going to be all right because it's about because it's about characters they know and love. Viewers also want to know what informed the characters and made them the person they are."
Roache added: "Of course everyone remembers All Creatures Great and Small with great affection but we wanted Young Herriot to be a different proposition for a 21st century audience. It's so rare to have three young leads in a period drama."
With other period dramas such as ITV1's Downton Abbey coming under fire over historical accuracy, the producers have sought to ensure that Young Herriot is packed with authentic details.
"We are under pressure for accuracy because of what's happened to other series," Roache admitted. "We are confident in terms of period detail as we were lucky to have access to the diaries that Alf Wight wrote at the time and have so much information about what the science and life was like in the 1930s – where people went hungry and there was no NHS."
Young Herriot co-writer Eileen Gallagher said they had felt under pressure to ensure the three-part drama lived up to the expectations of All Creatures Great and Small fans.
She added that the new series had the full support of the family of Wight. Christopher Timothy played Herriot in the original series, which also starred Robert Hardy, Peter Davison, Lynda Bellingham and Carol Drinkwater.
Young Herriot features rising star Iain de Caestecker, who plays the trainee vet with a Scottish accent. That may confuse some All Creatures Great and Small fans as Timothy's character did not have an accent, but Wight was raised on the edge of Glasgow.
Unusually for a BBC1 drama, it has three young leads, with de Caestecker joined by Ben Lloyd-Hughes, who plays McAloon and Outcasts actress Amy Manson, who plays Tyson.
Three episodes of Young Herriot have been filmed and, although the series begins in Glasgow, it goes on to feature the vet's exploits in the countryside.

Doctor Who film being planned
Doctor Who film being planned
A big-screen version of the iconic BBC1 drama is in the early stages of planning, with director David Yates at the helm.
A new Doctor Who film finally looks to be on the cards following years of rumour and speculation, and almost 50 years after the Time Lord was last transported to the big screen.
David Yates, the director of the last four Harry Potter films and TV drama State of Play, told US entertainment industry trade magazine Variety that he has started work on a feature film adaptation of the sci-fi drama with BBC Worldwide, the corporation's commercial arm.
But fans of the current Doctor, Matt Smith, could be disappointed, as Yates said that the film would be "quite a radical transformation" from the latest BBC1 series which ended in October.
Yates and the BBC also cautioned that the project remains in the early stages of development, with no script or cast, and will not reach cinemas for several years.
"We're looking at writers now. We're going to spend two to three years to get it right," Yates told Variety. "It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena."
Yates also suggested that the film would not be written by either Russell T Davies, responsible for successfully bringing Doctor Who back to TV in 2005, or Steven Moffat, who replaced him as showrunner and lead writer in 2009.
"Russell T Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch," he said.
"We want a British sensibility, but having said that, Steve Kloves wrote the Potter films and captured that British sensibility perfectly, so we are looking at American writers too."
A BBC spokesman said: "A Doctor Who feature film remains in development with BBC Worldwide Productions in Los Angeles.
"The project is unlikely to reach cinemas for several years and as yet there is no script, cast or production crew in place."
Variety magazine reported that Yates is working on the film with Jane Tranter, the Los Angeles-based head of the BBC's Worldwide Productions. Tranter oversaw the show's return to BBC1 in 2005 as the corporation's drama controller.
It is almost 50 years since the last big-screen adaptation of the long running TV drama. Doctor Who and the Daleks made its debut in 1965, with the sequel, Doctor Who: Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 AD airing a year later. Both 1960s movies starred Peter Cushing as the Doctor.
Doctor Who was dropped by the BBC after 26 years in 1989, returning for a one-off TV movie in 1996, starring Paul McGann.
The TV series returned to BBC1 in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston cast as the Time Lord, before David Tennant took over for the next three series and 2009's specials. Smith has been in the lead role for the past two series.

DJ broadside at 'wimping' Sinitta
DJ broadside at 'wimping' Sinitta
DJ Pat Sharp has begun to turn on his fellow I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! contestants and blasted Sinitta for "wimping around".
The former mullet-haired presenter lost his temper following Sinitta's poor performances in bringing meals into camp after her bushtucker trials as she struggles with her fear of creepy crawlies.
And the sharp-tongued Smooth Radio host has now suggested she is "milking" her fears to make a name for herself.
Sharp told fellow campers including actress Crissy Rock, Mark Wright and Dougie Poynter: "I think there's a bit of 'ooooh look at me': she's not stupid, and she knows how the world works.
"She's milking it. She might have tried her best but it just wasn't good enough. It's about mentality. You are either strong minded or you are not. I would not enjoy any of the things she's had to endure but I would still not look like a moron doing them."
To silence from the others, Sharp added: "She looks ridiculous. She's wimping around on this show."
Viewers saw Sinitta struggle through a live trial winning just five meals for the 12 celebrities in the ITV1 show.
Sharp also lambasted contestant Lorraine Chase for being "too nice" and for cuddling her Teddy bear.
And he said he did not care what viewers thought of his outbursts and comments about the other stars.
"I'm just being honest. I don't care if everyone hates me for it; they can kick me out," he said.

New show: Living With The Amish
New show: Living With The Amish
In 2010, a group of charming, bewildered Amish children came over to live in the UK and were the subject of a sweet and engaging C4 documentary. This here is the return leg of the fixture, in which British kids go over to Ohio and Pennsylvania to see how the private, and, to many Brit viewers and I dare say TV producers, amusingly odd Amish live. Naturally, the British teenagers chosen could all do with a clip round the ear, from spoilt, shopping-mad Charlotte, Etonian George, and social-media daft Jordan. Classic fly-on-the-wall fare as they, like, have to do housework and stuff. It’s so unfair.

'Gossip Girl': Blair's wedding dress details come out
'Gossip Girl': Blair's wedding dress details come out
Would you expect anything less than the best for Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) at her upcoming wedding?
Word from "Gossip Girl" EP Josh Safran is the future princess will be wearing an outfit from the dressmaker to the stars at her on-camera wedding. That's right, she'll be sporting a Vera Wang.
At a party celebrating the 100th episode of the series, Safran let this information slip saying, "The dress is beautiful. I'm not sure if I'm suppose to say it, but it's Vera Wang...it's amazing."
Roxanne Mesquida, who plays Louis' sister Beatrice, agreed.
"I'd wear that dress it's very classy and elegant," Mesquida says. When asked for additional wedding details, specifically if she's going to be a bridesmaid, she declined to comment. Given the contentious relationship between Beatrice and Blair, this shouldn't be surprise.
Wang's wedding dresses are a favorite of the celebrity set. A-Listers including Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson and Kim Kardashian have all worn Vera Wang at their nuptials. Of course all of these have ended in divorce. Hope Blair has better luck.

Katy Perry tapped to host 'Saturday Night Live'
Katy Perry tapped to host 'Saturday Night Live'
The hits just keep on coming for pop diva Katy Perry. On Monday (Nov. 21), just one day after walking home with an American Music Award, Perry tweeted out word that she'll be hosting the Dec. 10 episode of "Saturday Night Live."
"I'm SO excited 2 announce I'll be HOSTING Saturday Night Live Dec. 10!" she tweeted. "This is the cherry on top and @robynkonichiwa is part of it!"
Meaning Perry won't be doing double-duty as musical guest. But we're going to go ahead and assume that at some point in the show Perry will somehow, some way make use of her her skills -- maybe in an Andy Samberg/Lonely Island "SNL Digital Short?"
We can't help but wondering if Perry's husband, Russell Brand, will make a surprise (or not so much of a surprise) appearance. Brand himself is a veteran "SNL" host -- he hosted back in February. Perry herself made a memorable "SNL" appearance in Sept. 2010 when she appeared in a strategically-cut Elmo t-shirt as a response to "Sesame Street" dumping her as a guest.

Jim Henson Co. puppet-human hybrid comedy bought by NBC
"The Muppet Movie" comes out on November 23rd, reminding generations of people why they love Jim Henson's creations. NBC is capitalizing on that by announcing that they've closed a script deal for a brand new puppet-human hybrid family comedy with the Jim Henson Co.
"The New Nabors" is a comedy about the challenges that develop when a human family lives next door to a family of puppets. Feature writer John Hoffman (Fox 2000′s "Afterlife") and "30 Rock" executive producer John Riggi will write the script for "The New Nabors" which they developed with Lisa Henson and The Jim Henson Co.
We're thrilled to hear it, but honestly, we'd really love to see "The Muppet Show" return to the airwaves. How do you guys feel about the news? Are you willing to let some new puppets steal your heart or are you desperate to see the return of Piggy, Kermit, Fozzy and friends? Let us know below.

DVR ratings: 'New Girl's' return looks better after seven days
DVR ratings: 'New Girl's' return looks better after seven days
FOX's "New Girl" suffered a good-sized ratings decline when it returned from a baseball-induced hiatus on Nov. 1.
Nielsen's Live +7 ratings for that episode didn't bring the show all the way back to its pre-hiatus levels -- but its numbers are still pretty positive.
The Nov. 1 episode grew by 2.8 million viewers thanks to delayed viewing, climbing from 7.42 million to 10.22 million. Among adults 18-49, it improved from a 3.5 rating to a 5.1. By comparison, its first three episodes averaged 12.2 million viewers and a 6.0 demo rating (including DVR use).
"New Girl" was hardly in a danger zone even with the post-baseball ratings slide -- it's been the No. 2 show on Tuesday nights in adults 18-49 (behind "NCIS") each of the past three weeks, and it's among FOX's better performers so far this season. (And on the flip side, Live +7 performance isn't necessarily a huge help for a show's renewal chances. It doesn't hurt, but a show's overnight ratings tend to track better with Nielsen's "C+3" commercial ratings, which are a big part of setting ad rates.)
Among other notables in the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6, the season premiere of "Bones" got a good boost, adding a 2.94 million viewers and 1.1 points in the demo to finish with 12.94 million viewers and a 4.4. "Modern Family's" Nov. 2 episode set a new record for delayed viewing, adding close to 5 million viewers and 2.6 points in the 18-49 demographic.
Also, "Terra Nova" and "House" made up for below-average overnight ratings on Halloween by posting better-than-usual gains in the Live +7 numbers. "Terra Nova" ended up with 9.5 million viewers (for the season it's averaging just over 10 million) and "House" with 10 million (vs. 9.3 million for the season so far).

Some awesome show news.....
... NBC has ordered two additional episodes of Up All Night, bringing its first-season episode count to 24. The network seems high on the comedy starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett, as it is also moving the series to the cushy slot behind The Office on Thursdays, starting on January 12. [Deadline Hollywood]
... HBO is heading back to the Wild West with Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) for an untitled drama about the legendary Doc Holliday. The gunslinger was most famously portrayed by Val Kilmer in the movie Tombstone, but he was relegated to supporting status even though he was the most badass of the bunch. Ron Howard is on board to direct the pilot if the show goes the distance. [Deadline Hollywood]
... NBC is developing the comedy The New Nabors from The Jim Henson Company. With the late Jim Henson's name attached, you know it's going to feature puppets. The comedy centers on a human family that moves next door to a house full of puppets. [Deadline Hollywood]
... Jack Black has sold a comedy to Syfy that spoofs supernatural procedurals. Ghost Ghirls will be a send-up of female-centric shows like Ghost Whisperer and Medium, focusing on two women who hunt ghosts. [Deadline Hollywood]
... Actor John Neville has died at the age of 86. You may not recognize the name, but you'd remember the face. Neville played "The Well-Manicured Man" on The X-Files and played the lead in The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

Even The Muppets Can't Save SNL From Itself
Even The Muppets Can't Save SNL From Itself
I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but Jason Segel is starring in a movie called The Muppets that also stars The Muppets. I know! They’ve been keeping that under wraps, real hush hush, but it’s a fact, and so it seemed about the right time for Mr. Segel and his furry friends to take the SNL stage. Was it the greatest episode of SNL in history? No. Was it the best episode this season so far? Also no. Was it terrible? Kind of, but come on—we need to savor this time with Kristin Wiig, Bill Hader, and Jason Sudeikis while we can. They won’t be with us for very much longer. As for Segel, he pulled out some great characters, like Andre the Giant and a prostitute (who was basically Andre the Giant in a wig).

NBC Orders a Full Season of Grimm
NBC Orders a Full Season of Grimm
In a move I certainly didn't see coming at the beginning of the fall season (the show was one of my Dead Pool entries), NBC has ordered a full season of Grimm, according to Entertainment Weekly. With a full 22-episode order, it's the network's only new hour-long drama to receive a full-season pickup.
NBC will also try out the show on Thursday, December 8 in the 10pm slot in an attempt to grow its audience. Grimm currently airs in the graveyard that is Friday nights at 9pm, where it's performing admirably. The show is averaging 6.9 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the adult demo when DVR usage is factored in. Last week's episode drew 5.4 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the adult demo before DVR viewers were factored in, good enough to come in second for the night and place well ahead of Fringe.
Congratulations to the plucky fairytale procedural for overcoming genre competition in its time slot and comparisons to Once Upon a Time to earn a full season!
