'Will & Grace' star Sean Hayes lands 'Parks and Recreation' role
Sean Hayes has landed a role on Parks and Recreation.
The former Will & Grace star will play a respected TV journalist on the NBC comedy, according to TVLine.
His character will share an awkward interview with Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) as part of her run for political office.
Hayes is currently developing a new sitcom with NBC, in which he will play one half of a gay couple who are raising a 12-year-old.
"The... show is called Us, and it's a half-hour sitcom," he revealed in October. "I would play one of the dads, Patrick."
The actor's former Will & Grace castmate Megan Mullally is married to Parks and Rec star Nick Offerman and also recurs on the show as Tammy, the ex-wife of Offerman's Ron Swanson.
Hollywood star Paul Rudd also recently signed up for a guest role on Parks and Recreation, while series star Amy Poehler will also make her directorial debut on a forthcoming episode.
The series continues on Thursdays at 8.30/7.30c.
