Jamie Bamber joins David E Kelley's medical drama 'Chelsea General'
Jamie Bamber has won a lead role in TNT medical drama pilot Chelsea General.
The project - from Harry's Law creator David E Kelley - is based on CNN medical correspondent Dr Sanjay Gupta's novel Monday Mornings.
It will chart the careers and personal lives of five surgeons working in a high-pressure environment, according to Deadline.
Bamber will play Dr Tyler Wilson, a neurosurgeon who had a romantic fling with a colleague, played by Better with You's Jennifer Finnigan.
Best known for playing Lee 'Apollo' Adama on Battlestar Galactica, Bamber appeared on Law & Order: UK from 2009 to 2011 and has since featured in episodes of House and CSI: Miami.
Kelly and Gupta will executive produce Chelsea General, with Boston Legal's Bill D'Elia hired to direct the pilot.
Other projects in the works at TNT include Frank Darabont's L.A. Noir and police dog drama Scent of the Missing starring Tricia Helfer.
