Sherlock series 3 “planned out”
Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have the third series of Sherlock mapped out. Now? There’s just the small matter of writing it…
As part of his recent natter with the Radio Times website, at the recent Royal Television Society awards, Steven Moffat had a brief update as to the state of Sherlock series 3.
A further run of the show, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, has already been confirmed. And Moffat has told the Radio Times that he and Mark Gatiss have already been hard at work on it.
“Mark and I have planned it out”, he said. “We haven’t started writing it yet because I've got God knows how many episodes of Doctor Who to get sorted first. But the way it works with Sherlock is that we starve you and then we give you a short burst and then we starve you again. It’s worked so far, we’re not going to change it."
He had no clues as to when the new series would be scheduled. “Given that this is a show I haven’t started writing yet, it’s a bit early to suggest scheduling. Once we hand them over, they’ll be on television quite quickly”.
