Justine Clarke: 'Tangle' gets better with every series'
Tangle actress Justine Clarke has revealed that she believes the show gets better with each series.
The Logie-nominated Australian star plays Allie Kovac in the Showcase drama.
Allie is a woman has endured the loss of her husband, has had a fling with a friend and is trying to cope with two teenage children and a wild sister called Nat (Kat Stewart).
As Tangle approaches its third season, Clarke revealed that fans can expect "more tension and discord", telling TV Tonight: "The way the writing seems to evolve across each series is that things just seem to ramp up even more.
"The end of the [last series] felt like people were coasting for a little minute, but you never feel like you're ever going to start an episode where everything is okay. It's only going to build on the hideous things that have happened in each episode!"
"The standard of writing gets better with each series," she continued. "The more [the writers] get to know the characters the more they've been able to play with them. So there's a whole new world of danger and drama that's open to us."
Clarke said that she pities her character because she is trying "so hard to live in a normal, ordered world" but is surrounded by "chaos".
She also said that this series will concentrate on Allie "working out what she's going to do with her life", something that the actress said she hopes any single mother facing a "scary" future might be able to relate to.
Clarke added that the relationship between Allie and Nat is a complex one because they "love each other and get along", but are "poles apart in their morals and lifestyles".
Tangle airs on Sundays at 8.30pm on Showcase.
