Alan Davies to host BAFTA Television Craft Awards
Alan Davies is to host the British Academy Television Craft Awards on Sunday, May 13 at The Brewery in the City of London.
The Craft gongs salute the behind-the-scenes talent from television and new media.
"I'm looking forward to meeting the people who actually do all the work in TV and to seeing people accept awards without collapsing in tears," said Jonathan Creek star Davies.
Amanda Berry OBE, chief executive of BAFTA, said: "Alan is one of those brilliant British talents that have done it all. Given that the Television Craft Awards recognise those that create television, the combination of his acting and stand-up experience, along with his proven track record in writing, makes him the perfect host for this year's event."
Sherlock, Doctor Who, Appropriate Adult and Birdsong are among the shows nominated for Craft awards this year.
Fresh Meat stars Joe Thomas and Kimberley Nixon, Tom Ellis, Top Boy star Kane Robinson, Nicholas Parsons and Kierston Wareing are among the famous faces lined up to present awards at the ceremony at the weekend.
