'Britain's Got Talent' dips in ratings for third semi-final
Britain's Got Talent fell in the ratings for last night's semi-final but was still dominant, according to overnight data.
The reality show managed 7.8m (33.5%) on ITV1 from 7.30pm (+1: 365k/1.5%). An average of 9.4m had tuned in live on Monday (May 8).
Britain's Got Talent's results show attracted 6.86m (27.8%) with an additional 317k (2.2%) on timeshift.
BBC One's Britain's Biggest Hoarders grabbed 4.11m (16.6%) in the 9pm hour.
Elsewhere, BBC Two aired Great British Menu (1.84m/8.2%), The Town Taking on China (992k/4.2%) and Great Ormond Street (1.28m/5.2%).
Foxes Live: Wild in the City continued for Channel 4 with 1.09m (4.6%) from 8pm (+1: 112k/0.5%) before Hidden Talent took 580k (2.3%) an hour later (+1: 125k/0.7%). More Sex Please, We're British wrapped up the channel's primetime programming with 1.01m (6%) in the 10pm hour (+1: 185k/2.2%).
Channel 5's CSI appealed to 1.47m (5.9%) from 9pm with 179k (1%) on timeshift. A repeat of CSI: NY afterwards impressed with 1.07m (6.2%), and War Hero in My Family was watched by 780k (3.3%) earlier in the night.
Overall, ITV1 comfortably won primetime with 27.9% (+1: 1.2%) ahead of BBC One's 18.6%. BBC Two came third with 5.4%, while Channel 5's 4.3% (+1: 0.3%) beat Channel 4's 3.8% (+1: 0.6%).
On the multichannels, Sky Atlantic's Friday Night Lights enjoyed an unusual week-on-week increase of more than 600%, taking 46k (0.2%) compared to the 7k last week. Mad Men dropped to 38k (0.2%) from 9pm.
The Vampire Diaries episode 'Do Not Go Gentle' drew 288k (1.2%) on ITV2 (+1: 113k/0.7%) and the latest Alcatraz earned 376k (1.5%) on Watch.
