BBC Three has confirmed details for its Bollywood Live project, which will take place in Bradford later this year.
Following the success of similar projects in Leeds and Manchester (Frankenstein's Wedding and Manchester Passion), the new show will be a Bollywood-style production of the opera Carmen.
The story will follow a girl in Bradford called Karmen, who is bored of her receptionist job and who dreams of movie fame. She believes her time has come when an Indian film crew comes to Bradford to make a movie of Carmen.
It will feature an original score by Kuljit Bhamra, who previously worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber on Bombay Dreams.
The production will take place in Bradford's City Park on June 9.
"We are delighted to be able to bring the excitement and glamour of Bollywood in this unique way to our viewers," said BBC Three boss Zai Bennett.
BBC Three is celebrating its 10th birthday this weekend.
