'Game of Thrones': Get your first look at Season 2
Season 2 of "Game of Thrones" is about five months away, and on Sunday night (Nov. 20) HBO offered up a first look at what's coming in the spring.
What's coming, based on these two minutes of video, looks pretty intense -- which should not be a surprise to anyone who watched Season 1. The teaser offers glimpses of some of the new characters joining the story, including Natalie Dormer ("The Tudors") as Margaery Tyrell, the bride-to-be of Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony), along with returning stars Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams and others.
There are also a couple of gorgeous-looking shots of scenes from the coming season -- the fires burning on the beach at the 1:30 mark is a particular standout.
Executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss also talk about the challenge of expanding the world of the show in Season 2, the new sets that had to be built and the new characters brought into the story. "Game of Thrones" will return in April.
