50 Cent Signs 'Jersey Shore' Star Pauly D
As Vinny Guadagnino deals with the fallout from his recent foray into the world of rap, the AP reports that his fellow 'Jersey Shore' guido, Pauly D (yes, the one with that hair) has hooked up with rapper 50 Cent.
The reality star and DJ said months ago that the pair were working together, and now he has officially signed to 50 Cent's dance and pop music label, G-Note.
Calling Pauly D smart and creative, 50 Cent said he's a "great addition to G-Note and [the] G-Unit family."
Before he hit paydirt as one of the macaroni rascals on 'Jersey Shore,' Pauly D worked the clubs as a DJ. He's currently working a residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las vegas, and recently opened for Britney Spears on some dates in her recent "Femme Fatal" tour.
Pauly D's also the first 'Jersey Shore' star to get his own spin-off show, which will chronicle his life as a celebrity DJ. MTV ordered a full 12-episode season of the show back in April, and it's slated to air in 2012.
Meanwhile, Pauly's erstwhile housemate Vinny has issued an apology after the lyrics in his new rap video, 'Rack City Mix.' After the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) accused him of "trivialising" rape, Vinny took down the video and posted this message on his blog: "I'd like to apologize for the rap. Was meant to be a funny take on an already 'dirty' song -- funny since I'm known as the 'good boy'."
He added: "I am, and I am 100 percent against violence of any kind. I work with many organizations to stop violence and bullying, and will continue to. It's something I strongly believe in. Very sorry to anyone I've offended."
