Nigel Lythgoe Docks Lake Las Vegas Property, Lists for $3.95 Million
The executive producer is selling at a 43% loss.
There seems to be no shortage of discount property in the luxury real estate market.
With recent price chops and loss-sales from News Corp head Rupert Murdoch, and actors Nicolas Cage, Robert De Niro, and Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco, Hollywood is showing itself not untouched by the ebb and flow of market volatility.
Nigel Lythgoe -- the executive producer who has amassed a horde of reality competition shows like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance -- is selling a 2002-built Lake Las Vegas expanse in Nevada on 0.36 acres. Asking price: $3.95 million. Lythgoe bought the mansion in the Monaco subdivision of Henderson, Nevada for near double that in 2005: $7 million.
The five-bedroom, 6.75-bath house looks out to views of the man-made lake and its accompanying golf course. The place boasts vaulted ceilings, marble floors, and two family rooms. Rich, country-style appointments are found in the kitchen with custom cabinets and walk-in pantry. A private dock sits right off the backyard. There are two fireplaces and a five-car garage.
Lythgoe is jointly selling the property with his ex-wife, Bonnie.
Adding to his executive producer credits, he is in pre-production on Secret Fortune, a game show hosted by Donny Osmond, and distributed by CBS.
The listing is held by Dale Thornburgh of Sothebys International.
