James Wolk joins USA's 'Political Animals'
James Wolk has landed a role in USA's new drama Political Animals.
The six-part series, due to premiere this summer, focuses on a divorced former First Lady who becomes the Secretary of State.
Wolk has now signed up to play the lead character's son Doug, Deadline reports.
Doug, who works as his mother's chief of staff, is considered a future star in the political world.
Wolk previously starred in Fox's Lone Star, which was critically acclaimed but cancelled after two episodes due to low ratings.
Since the end of Lone Star, Wolk has appeared in Happy Endings and Shameless.
Political Animals has been created by Greg Berlanti, whose previous credits include Brothers & Sisters, Eli Stone, Everwood and Dawson's Creek.
Berlanti is also developing a number of pilots, with a CBS cop drama starring Ryan Phillippe, superhero show Arrow for The CW and a JoAnna Garcia comedy for CBS all in contention.
