Channel 5 'Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers' speeds ahead with 1.6m
Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers continued its fine form on Fridays with a total of 1.6m last night, according to the latest overnight data.
Channel 5's hit docusoap pulled in 1.48m (6.4%) in the 8pm hour and 114k (0.5%) on +1, beating Channel 4 in the 8pm hour, then the audience increased to 1.49m (6.6%) for 9pm's The Mentalist, which had a further 107k (0.6%) on timeshift.
Channel 4's Come Dine with Me served up 843k (3.7%) at 7.35pm (+1: 228k/1%), then 888k (3.7%) watched Zooey Deschanel's New Girl at 8.30pm (+1: 118k/0.5%), and The Celebrity Bank Job enthralled 1.08m (4.8%) from 9pm (+1: 171k/1%).
Over on BBC Two, the 8pm combination of Mastermind (1.85m/8.2%) and Gardeners' World (1.96m/8.3%) continued to pay dividends, after which new factual series Reverse Missionaries opened with 762k (3.4%). The audience jumped back up to 1.94m (10.2%) at 10pm for a QI repeat.
Elsewhere, Benidorm's audience dropped off to 5.77m (25.7%) at 9pm (+1: 321k/1.8%), while a solid 3.98m (17.7%) watched another classic New Tricks investigation on BBC One. The Graham Norton Show entertained 3.54m (24.6%) at 10.35pm.
Overall, ITV1 topped primetime with 24.5% (+1: 0.9%), beating BBC One's 19.7%, BBC Two's 5.4%, Channel 5's 5.1% (+1: 0.3%), and Channel 4's 4.2% (+1: 0.8%).
