'CSI' season premiere grabs 2.3 million on Channel 5

Season 12 of procedural drama CSI opened with more than 2.3 million viewers last night, according to overnight data.
Channel 5's US import averaged 2.34m (9.4%) in the 9pm hour, building on Revealed, which took 1.19m (5.1%) from 8pm.
Big Fat Gypsy Weddings continued with 4.01m (16.1%) on Channel 4, but did suffer a slight dip compared to last week and was this time beaten by BBC One's MasterChef (4.16m/16.7%).
Gypsy Weddings added an impressive 753k (4.3%) on timeshift.
Elsewhere on Channel 4, Supersize v Superskinny had 1.96m (8.3%) from 8pm (+1: 137k/0.6%) and Shameless took 1.65m (9.6%) in the 10pm hour (+1: 275k/3.3%).
ITV1 struggled with Homes from Hell taking 2.26m (9.6%) and 9pm's The Biggest Loser averaging 2.48m (10%) and 263k on timeshift.
On BBC Two, Harry Bikers' Bakeation drew 2.63m (11.2%) and Horizon managed 1.69m (6.8%).
Overall, BBC One confidently secured primetime victory with 21.6% ahead of ITV1's 12.5% (+1: 0.6%). Channel 4 came third with 9.6% (+1: 1.3%) beating BBC Two's 8% and Channel 5's 5.8%.
On the multichannels, the latest instalment of The Vampire Diaries had 377k (1.5%) on ITV2 (+1: 128k/0.7%) and MTV's Geordie Shore took 360k (2.1%).
