Revived 'Young Talent Time' to be axed after just one series?
Young Talent Time is believed to be facing the axe after only one series.
The Channel Ten children's talent show, which was revived earlier this year after being cancelled in 1988, was recently moved from its primetime Sunday slot to a Friday night airing time.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Young Talent Time's viewer ratings have dwindled from 1.1 million down to 600,000 over the past two months.
A Ten spokesperson said yesterday that the network is confident that the series will "settle in" to its new "family friendly" Friday slot.
Ten's chief programming officer David Mott recently said of the day change: "We've built Friday nights as a space for family-friendly entertainment, fun light programming and [it is] now the perfect fit for Young Talent Time as it heads into the big semi-final and final weeks."
The show's host Rob Mills has also revealed that he thinks Australia needs a show like Young Talent Time because "the whole world is screaming out for more positivity".
The original version of the show launched the careers of stars such as Dannii Minogue, Karen Knowles, Jamie Redfern, Debra Byrne and Joey Perrone.
