"The Killing" must have felt a little bit wounded Monday morning.
AMC's drama had its second season premiere Sunday night, and it appears that the series has dropped a number of viewers compared to its first season premiere.

The initial airing of Sunday's two-hour premiere at 8 p.m. drew 1.8 million total viewers -- a good sight short of the 2.7 million total viewers who tuned in for its series premiere last April.
With an 11 p.m. encore factored in, the premiere took in 2.5 million total viewers -- just short of the amount that tuned in for last season's premiere initial airing.
Granted, the season one premiere of "The Killing" was AMC's second most-viewed premiere for an original series in its history, behind "The Walking Dead," which averaged 5.3 million total viewers on Halloween 2010.
Sunday's "The Killing" premiere drew a household rating of 1.4 with its initial airing, and a 2.0 for the two airings.
Among the key 25-54 demo, "The Killing" drew 857,000 viewers with the 8 p.m. airing and 1.2 million overall for the night -- off just slightly from its first season average.
Last June's season finale of "The Killing" drew 2.3 million total viewers, with a 1.8 household share.
