There is a casting change on the NBC White House family comedy pilot 1600 Penn following the project’s table read yesterday. The role of the President’s eldest daughter Becca is being recast with Martha MacIsaac (Greek). Brittany Snow was originally tapped for the role. The producers opted to make a creative change with a younger and darker-looking Becca after the table read as the original character and Snow appeared not to mesh well with the rest of the family, including in physical resemblance with the other siblings. Coincidentally, MacIsaac also played a character named Becca in Superbad.
Co-created by Josh Gad, Jason Winer and Jon Lovett and directed by Winer, 1600 Penn is a dysfunctional family comedy set at the White House, where the president’s (Bill Pullman) out-of-control oldest son (Gad) returns home and becomes not only the family’s biggest liability but also the glue holding everyone together. The pilot also co-stars Amara Miller as the younger daughter and Jenna Elfman as the First Lady and the kids’ stepmother. Snow just wrapped the feature Pitch Perfect. MacIsaac is with APA.
