Simon Amstell sitcom Grandma's House began its second series with a modest audience last night, early viewing figures reveal.
The BBC Two show's opening episode - featuring a gay kiss between Simon and Oliver - amused 979k (4.9%) at 10pm, a drop of 600k on its 2010 premiere rating.
Earlier on the channel, Louis Theroux's piece on autism intrigued 1.91m (8.1%) at 9pm, prior to which 1.41m (5.9%) tuned in to new food show Two Greedy Italians at 8pm.
Over on ITV1, Long Lost Family kept up its strong start with 4.69m (19.9%) watching its second instalment, as well as 299k (1.7%) on +1.
BBC One appealed to a loyal 4.31m (18.2%) for 8pm's Watchdog and 4.27m (18.3%) for a New Tricks repeat.
Documentary 9/11: The Lost Tapes was Channel 4's most-watched broadcast with 1.82m (7.8%) at 9pm (+1: 355k/2%), after which Extreme A&E had 1.11m (6.4%) and 147k (1.5%) on timeshift.
Elsewhere, a Europa League semi-final match on Channel 5 scored 1.07m (4.6%) for just over two hours from 8pm.
Overall on the terrestrials, ITV1 led primetime with a share of 22.3% (+1: 0.8%), beating BBC One which averaged 21%.
BBC Two claimed third place with 6.5%, followed by Channel 4 with 5.1% (+1: 1%), and Channel 5 with 3.8% (+1: 0.1%).
