Simon Cowell to be 'voice of God' via Skype for 'X Factor'?
Simon Cowell may reportedly feature in the next series of The X Factor.
The talent show judge will unlikely appear regularly in the UK edition of the show, due to contractual and scheduling conflicts with the US version.
Cowell may however appear as a "voice of God" via Skype when the other judges are unable to reach an unanimous decision, reports The Sun.
The move is said to be a way of bringing in further viewers following BBC One's recent ratings win for The Voice UK over ITV1's Britain's Got Talent.
An insider said: "This is serious now for Simon. BGT losing out to The Voice is one thing, but he's terrified this is going to have negative repercussions for The X Factor.
"All options are being considered and having him as the Voice of God is one of them. He quite likes the idea."
The source added: "X Factor is Simon's baby and he'll do whatever he can to make it a success. He won't let something like the Atlantic get in the way of things."
Meanwhile, an X Factor spokeswoman said: "Simon is closely involved with the show and its direction. Ideas for the new series are still being discussed."
Simon Cowell is rumoured to be considering dropping his 'nasty image' altogether in order to compete with The Voice UK.
