CBS Orders Sherlock Holmes Drama to Series, Plus 3 More Dramas, 2 Comedies, and Reality Show
CBS has ordered four new drama series, including the Sherlock Holmes update "Elementary," as well as two new comedies and a reality show from Mark Burnett.
"Elementary" stars Jonny Lee Miller as a modern-day Sherlock in New York City, whose Holmes is played by Lucy Liu. "Vegas," starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis, is a 1960s period drama about Ralph Lamb, a rodeo cowboy turned sheriff of Las Vegas. "Made in Jersey" stars Janet Montgomery as a working class woman who uses her street smarts at a tony Manhattan law firm, and "Golden Boy" tracks a cop's rise from officer to detective to police commissioner.
The new comedy "Friend Me," is about two Indiana twentysomethings -- played by Nicholas Braun and "Superbad" star Christopher Mintz-Plasse -- who move to Los Angeles to work at Groupon. "Partners," the other comedy, is about two lifelong friends and business partners.
The career-minded reality series "The Job" comes from Mark Burnett and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" executive producer Michael Davies.
