Matt LeBlanc's 'Episodes' returns to BBC Two with 1.2m
Matt LeBlanc's Episodes kicked off its second series with respectable numbers on Friday night, overnight data suggests.
The sitcom averaged 1.24m (6.3%) for BBC Two at 10pm, despite a lead-in of just 1.01m (4.4%) from Maestro at the Opera. Mastermind (1.78m/8.4%) and Gardeners' World (2.13m/9.1%) aired earlier.
Have I Got News For You (5.14m/22.3%) and Not Going Out (4.15m/18.5%) on BBC One overwhelmed Piers Morgan's Life Stories, which mustered 3.99m (17.5%) for ITV1 at 9pm (+1: 245k) for its Dennis Waterman interview.
Would I Lie To You? amused 3.23m (13.8%) at 8.30pm, while The Graham Norton Show entertained 3.42m (23.1%) from 10.35pm.
Channel 4's comedy night continued steadily as 8 Out of 10 Cats grabbed 1.02m (4.4%) at 9pm (+1: 303k), 943k (4.2%) watched impressions show Very Important People half-an-hour later, and Alan Carr: Chatty Man had 1.66m (9.4%) at 10pm (+1: 254k).
Meanwhile, The Mentalist was Channel 5's most-watched programme with 1.48m (6.5%).
Overall, ITV1 led primetime with 22.1% (+1: 0.7%), beating BBC One's 20%. BBC Two managed third place with 6.6%, ahead of Channel 4's 5% (+1: 0.9%), and Channel 5's 3.9% (+1: 0.2%).
Action thriller Taken appealed to 1m (4.8%) on Film4 from 9pm.
