The network announced Monday that it has greenlit three new shows, one of which will debut in just three weeks. It's part of the network's transformation from the eco-conscious Planet Green.
"Buying Alaska," premiering Oct. 21, examines the decision to live in a land of wild and beautiful surroundings -- where dangerous animals and brutal winters are just part of the deal.
"Epic," meanwhile, looks at extravagant homes with such features as helicopter landing pads and underwater speakers for pools. It premieres Dec. 16.
"United States of Bacon," an offshoot of the three-part series "United States of Food," is a 12-episode series about new approaches to bacon, from sea to shining sea. It is slated for a December premiere.
Formerly Planet Green, Destination America has been rebranded as a network that explores America's work ethic, lost mysteries, and, of course, fatty foods.
