Ant & Dec are reportedly planning a new silent comedy show.
The I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! presenters are said to be developing a new programme inspired by silent movie stars such as Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
A close friend of the duo has claimed that the pair are looking to get back into acting and comedy in the near future, reports The Sun.
The source said: "Ant and Dec had a great idea for a comedy which is completely silent.
"There will be some slapstick, but it won't just be full of physical gags.
"They have already started working on a script and hopefully they will find time to film it this year or early next."
If the show reaches the production stage, it will most likely end up on ITV. However, the pair have yet to extend their contract with the broadcaster, which ends by the close of 2013.
Ant & Dec will join Simon Cowell for the first judges' auditions of Britain's Got Talent from January 16.
The duo first became household names as PJ and Duncan when they appeared in BBC youth drama Byker Grove in the early 1990s.
They went on to host comedy-based shows such as The Ant & Dec Show and Ant and Dec Unzipped before they focused more on presenting programmes including SMTV Live, Pop Idol and Saturday Night Takeaway.
Ant & Dec also acted in a one-off Likely Lads remake in 2002, and in the comedy film Alien Autopsy in 2006.
