Celeb Big Brother: Channel 5 confirms Rylan secret X Factor rehearsals

Channel 5 has confirmed that Rylan Clark has been secretly leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house to complete X Factor rehearsals.

Evicted housemate Gillian Taylforth accidentally revealed information about Clark's departures from the compound during an appearance on The Wright Stuff earlier today.

Following Taylforth's comments, the broadcaster said in a statement: "Rylan has rehearsed for his tour on site with a choreographer, escorted by a Big Brother producer."

When asked by Digital Spy why Taylforth had mentioned "a driver" in her comments about Clark, a show rep said that the singer may have been driven around Elstree Studios.

Clark's exits from the house break from the main principle of the show - that contestants live in complete isolation without any contact from the outside world.

On the subject of whether it broke the show's rules, a rep told "It's Celebrity Big Brother", claimed that they didn't think Clark had left the house more than four times, and added that it would have been agreed with producers when the X Factor star signed a contract to take part.

The Wright Stuff 'Mic Man' Eric Johnson claimed that Taylforth had confirmed to him off-camera that Clark was leaving the house every Sunday.

"Recently evicted housemate just told me Rylan has been leaving the CBB house for XFactor tour rehearsals EVERY SUNDAY. Ooops!" he wrote on Twitter.

Geri Halliwell, Brian Blessed, Brenda Blethyn for Henry Hugglemonster

Geri Halliwell has been added to the voice cast of Disney Junior show Henry Hugglemonster.

The Spice Girl will play "spirited and popular monster popstar" Isabella Roarsome in the programme.

"Being involved in Henry Hugglemonster has been such a joy!" said Halliwell.

"The show has a truly positive message, teaching kids to be themselves and reminding them of the importance of family values."

She added: "This is a fun, sweet and lively TV show that invites everybody in and appeals on a number of different levels for little ones and mums alike.

"What's more, it's been so lovely to share this experience with my own daughter. She even helped me learn the songs for my role as Isabella and she can't wait to catch the show on Disney Junior!"

Developed by Disney's London-based production hub and produced by Dublin's Brown Bag Films, Henry Hugglemonster will premiere on Disney Junior UK on February 8.

It will then roll out to channels in over 150 countries worldwide.

Also in the cast are British acting icons Brian Blessed and Brenda Blethyn.

Henry Hugglemonster is a 5-year-old middle child in the monster family the Hugglemonsters of Roarsville.

The series has been developed from Niahmh Sharkey's children's book I'm a Happy Hugglewug, published by Walker Books

NRA Takes Gun Advocacy to Cable TV Airwaves

The National Rifle Association is using six cable TV shows its produces or sponsors to convey its talking points to viewers in more than 30 million homes, Reuters reported.

The shows, which air on the Outdoor and Sportsman channels, have ramped up their pro-NRA rhetoric as President Barack Obama has pushed for gun control. Last week he signed an executive order aimed at curbing gun violence.

"Assault weapon is a made-up name for a gun I can ban," Cam Edwards (pictured left), host of the Sportsman Channel's "Cam & Company," said on a recent show. Later in the program, he read the NRA's statement responding to Obama.

Edwards has good reason to toe the party line -- NRA News produces his show.

The NRA has ramped up its gun advocacy campaigns to fight the tide of public opinion in favor of controlling guns after the Newtown, Conn. school shootings that killed twenty children and six women who tried to protect them.

Other programs on Outdoor Channel are not subtle about their attachment to the NRA, Reuters noted.

"Friends of the NRA," hosted by former baseball player Matt Duff and champion shooter Jessie Harrison Duff, has raised more than $200 million for the NRA's training and education programs, according to the lobbying group's website.

The two hosts visit NRA banquets around the country.

On his show, Edwards claims he is "not a spokesman for the NRA," according to Reuters.

The NRA did not immediately respond to emails from TheWrap requesting comment.

Among advertisers buying time from the NRA are Smith & Wesson and Remington Arms Co., Reuters said.

Graig Hale, the Sportsman Channel's vice president of programming, said the audience makeup is mostly men 25 to 54, a desirable demographic that allows the channel to charge high rates.

Dish Closing 300 More Blockbuster Stores

Dish Network is closing another 300 Blockbuster video stores in the next few weeks, bringing its total number of locations to about 500, the company announced Monday.

The move comes after Blockbuster closings last year that included the shutdown of 500 locations last February. The company said Monday, as it did last year, that it would close unprofitable stores.

No locations for the closings have been announced. Some of the stores are reaching the end of their building leases, while others will close because of their performance, Dish spokesman John W. Hall told TheWrap.

The closures come as little surprise as more consumers watch streaming videos or buy them on-demand through their cable company rather than trekking to the brick-and-mortar stores that were so packed with customers in the 1990s.

Dish, which purchased the video chain for $320 million in 2011, is increasingly using Blockbuster's remaining physical locations to hawk its Dish services.

Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror' series two details revealed

Hayley Atwell, Jason Flemyng and Lenora Crichlow are to star in the second series of Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror.

The dark drama anthology will return with three new films on Channel 4 in the near future.

'Be Right Back' involves a terrifying twist on the world of social media, with Martha (Atwell) using a new online service to 'communicate' with her dead boyfriend Ash (Domhnall Gleeson).

'The Waldo Moment' will star Daniel Rigby as Jamie Salter, a failed comedian who becomes the voice of Waldo - an anarchic animated character on a satirical late-night topical comedy show.

Salter's life spirals out of control as he becomes frustrated with the world of politics and blue bear Waldo becomes a very real candidate in the upcoming by-election. Jason Flemyng also stars as TV exec Jack Napier.

Being Human actress Crichlow will play the amnesic Toni - a woman on the run from a hostile figure (Michael Smiley) - in third instalment 'White Bear'. Ian Bonar (Skyfall) and Tuppence Middleton (Spies of Warsaw) will also star in the dystopian thriller.

Series creator Charlie Brooker previously hinted at what to expect from series two of Black Mirror.

"Like the last series we've done three stories that are three different genres," he said in December. "We've also got all sorts of unpleasant things and also one of them is very sad."

NBC orders three more single-camera comedy pilots

NBC has placed orders for three more single-camera comedy pilots, including projects produced by Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) and the team of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.

The untitled Greg Daniels project is written and executive produced by Office scribe Robert Padnick. Described as a look at the trials and tribulations of dating in your 20s as explored through a group of friends, the pilot will focus on bright eyed and vulnerable Matthew being pushed by his three best friends to get back into the dating scene.

Executive produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, Assistance is based on a play written by Leslye Headland, who wrote and directed the feature comedy Bachelorette. This fast-moving comedy will center on an idealistic "working girl" assistant who is pulled between her "work husband" and her actual fiancé while trying to manage a demanding boss.

From writer Alex Schemmer and producer Geyer Kozinski, the third project is entitled Donor Party, an ensemble comedy that revolves around an irresponsible man forced to grow up when he discovers he has children resulting from his days as a sperm donor. A new family unit is formed when he is contacted by a single mother and begins to develop a relationship with her and the son he never knew he had.

Donor Party seems quite similar to the new Canadian comedy Seed, premiering on CityTV February 4 at 8:30 PM. What are the odds that any of these projects will end up on television?
