'The Voice UK' coaches 'form supergroup' at London auditions
The Voice UK coaches formed a supergroup to launch the BBC show.
Jessie J, Tom Jones, Danny O'Donoghue of The Script and will.i.am teamed up to perform a cover of the Black Eyed Peas song 'I Gotta Feeling', The Sun reports.
The performance took place during auditions at the BBC Television Centre in London on Thursday (January 19).
"It was incredible to see such big names in music perform together," an onlooker said. "Hopefully this has set the bar for the rest of the show.
"Everyone was jumping out of their seats and dancing along. It was really exciting. The whole concept seems to be very different from The X Factor, which will be very refreshing."
Reggie Yates - who is co-hosting the competition alongside Holly Willoughby - recently suggested that The Voice will be more "credible" than The X Factor and its sister programme Britain's Got Talent.
Speaking to Digital Spy at the launch of BGT yesterday, Simon Cowell admitted that he feared going head-to-head with The Voice.
"I recognise [The Voice] as a challenge. The BBC must be confident because they have put it up against this show," he said.
"They want to make a competition out of it. So we've got to make [Britain's Got Talent] better. Everyone benefits because of that."
The Voice UK is expected to air on BBC One in the spring.
