'Glee' cast join all-time digital download top ten
The cast of Glee have become the eighth highest-selling digital artists of all time, it has been revealed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the popular Fox show has sold 32 million downloads from its 58-show run so far.
They join the ranks of best-selling artists such as Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, The Black Eyed Peas and Rihanna.
The cast, including Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley and Lea Michele, have also set records on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with 193 charted songs - including Riley's tribute cover of Whitney Houston's rendition of 'I Will Always Love You'. The track sold over 45,000 downloads in the wake of the late singer's death.
Glee has earned three consecutive number one soundtracks, as well as selling 42 million songs and 12 million albums worldwide.
The series, which is currently on hiatus, recently celebrated its 300th musical performance with a mash-up of Adele's Grammy winning songs 'Rumour Has It' and 'Someone Like You'.
Glee will return with new episodes on April 10 on Fox in the US. The show resumes its third season in the UK on March 1 on Sky1.
