David Walliams, Alesha Dixon admit to Carmen Electra tensions
David Walliams and Alesha Dixon have admitted that they didn't get on with guest judge Carmen Electra during this year's Britain's Got Talent auditions.
Electra replaced Amanda Holden during the London try-outs while the West End star was on maternity leave. However, the Baywatch actress's stint on the panel didn't run smoothly, it was revealed at a Q&A screening yesterday (March 22).
"Carmen has the best set of.... teeth," joked Simon Cowell, when asked why he appointed her to the panel.
"I met Carmen in America. I really, really liked her. I like the idea of bringing an American over to the UK, because she sees the show from an American perspective, which actually makes it quite funny."
Defending her credentials, Cowell added: "She's an actress....She was in Baywatch, one of the biggest TV shows in the world."
However, he conceded: "She didn't get on great with David and Alesha."
Complaining about Electra's rude behaviour backstage, Walliams said: "We tried. We were talking to her and she was just flicking though a magazine."
Dixon added: "She didn't know our names even when they were written in big bold letters in front of us."
When Cowell was asked if Electra would be considered for a full-time role, Holden interrupted: "I can answer that. No. I don't have anything to worry about."
Britain's Got Talent starts on Saturday (March 24) at 8pm on ITV1.
