The BBC will make 24 HD-quality live streams available to cable and satellite providers for the duration of the Olympics Games, it has been announced.
Viewers will be able to watch every Olympic sport, live from every venue, via electronic programme guide channels or the BBC Red Button on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat.
This interactive coverage is the previously confirmed 24 simultaneous streams that will be available live online via the BBC Sport website and on PCs, smartphones, tablets and connected TVs.
The streaming service is also in addition to the flagship coverage on BBC One, BBC Three and Radio 5 Live. An estimated 2,500 hours of live sport will be available on BBC platforms during the games.
BBC London 2012 director Roger Mosey said: "We're delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to cable and satellite providers to extend our online service to millions of TV viewers across the UK.
"BBC One and BBC Three will remain the flagship channels for the Olympics. But, as the London 2012 Olympic Games will be the first truly 'Digital Games', we wanted to offer an unprecedented amount of live sporting action to the widest possible audience through these 24 live streams, giving vastly more choice than ever before."
Virgin Media has already announced that it will offer all the BBC's 24 live streams via its TiVo converged television service, as part of a deal agreed with the corporation in December last year.
Sky has said that it will offer the live streams via the Red Button, but also broadcast them as channels on its EPG from July 24.
The channels are free-to-air and available to any Sky home, including Freesat from Sky customers. The HD versions will be available on any Sky+HD box and not require a subscription, although the viewers will need an HD-ready TV.

Freesat will carry all of the BBC's 24 live HD Olympic channels throughout London 2012, both as live channels and streams via the BBC Red Button.
Homes with Freesat will be able to see the 24 BBC Olympics channels in standard or high definition depending on their receiver equipment.
Freesat managing director Emma Scott said: "We're totally delighted to be able to offer Freesat viewers these great BBC HD services. It is going to be an amazing summer of sport and the London 2012 Olympics in HD will truly be a sight to behold.
"This is the latest great example of the quality and choice in TV programmes available to Freesat customers, all subscription-free."
