Chevy Chase 'in feud with Community writer Dan Harmon'
Chevy Chase and the creator of NBC comedy Community are reportedly in the midst of a bitter feud.
Chase plays Pierce Hawthorn on the comedy, a crass billionaire and member of the Greendale Community College study group which is made up of stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie and Donald Glover.
Deadline reports that Chase and Community showrunner Dan Harmon have been feuding since Chase stormed off the set of the show on the last day of filming, failing to film a scene that was to conclude the season finale.
At the series wrap party, Harmon allegedly gave an explicit speech in which he encouraged the crew to join him in saying "Fuck you, Chevy", in front of Chase's wife and child.
Chase then left an angry voice message for Harmon which Deadline has provided here (Warning: bad language).
Sources say that the veteran comedy actor has gotten into arguments with Community's executive producers Anthony and Joe Russo many times, and that he has stormed off the set of the show on several occasions.
Community, which has just returned after a long hiatus from NBC, has been in danger of cancellation in the past due to slumping ratings.
Fan campaigns to keep the show on the air as well as better numbers have made executives more confident in the possibility of a fourth season.
It is unclear what this current feud between Chase and Harmon means for the future of the series and its current lineup.
