'Louis C.K. Live at the Beacon Theater' Airing on FX
You haven't bought Louis C.K.'s new special online? First: Aw, you should. It's great, and he gave some of the money to charity. But also: It's okay, because it will be on FX Saturday.
The network that airs his show, "Louie," will air the special, "Louis C.K. Live at the Beacon Theater," at 10/9c, six months after he made it available as a $5 download on his website. The comedian split the first million dollars he made from it between his employees, several charities, and himself. At the time, he reserved the right to sell it to someone else to air on TV, which is exactly what he's done with FX.
C.K.'s business model with the special has inspired other comedians, including Jim Gaffigan and Aziz Ansarri, to sell their latest specials online as well.
The third season of "Louie" will premiere June 28.
