Ratings: CBS Wins Monday for First Time Since 'Voice' Premiere
CBS was the top-rated Monday network for the first time since "The Voice" season premiere in February, according to preliminary numbers.
The network took an overall ratings win thanks largely to the top-rated "Two and a Half Men," while NBC's "The Voice" and "Smash" and ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" all dipped. CBS had an average 3.1 rating/8 share in the advertiser-cherished 18-49 demographic. It was the second most-watched network in total viewers with 10 million, behind ABC, which had 14.4 million total viewers.
CBS's "How I Met Your Mother" at 8 p.m. inched up from its last original two weeks ago for a 3.2/10 in the demo and 7.9 million total viewers. "2 Broke Girls" at 8:30 was also up slightly, drawing a 3.5/9 in the demo and 9.1 million total viewers. Though down slightly from its last original airing two weeks ago, "Two and a Half Men" at 9 was the night's highest-rated program with a 3.7/9 in the demo, and 11.2 million total viewers. "Mike & Molly" at 9 saw a slight bump up in the demo for a 3.2/8, and 10.2 million total viewers. "Hawaii 5-0" at 10 slipped slightly from its last original three weeks ago, posting a 2.5/6 in the demo and 10.8 million total viewers.
NBC took second place in the ratings and third in total viewers, averaging 2.9/8 in the demo and 8 million. Both of its offerings showed minor downturns, starting with "The Voice" at 8, which dipped 8 percent in the demo to a 3.5/9. It had 9.4 million total viewers. "Smash" at 10 dropped to a series low of 1.8/5, and had 5.4 million total viewers.
ABC came in third in ratings, averaging 2.6/7 in the demo. "Dancing With the Stars" at 8 was down 16 percent in the demo with a 2.7/7 but was the night's most-watched program with 15.8 million total viewers. "Castle" at 10 enjoyed a 14 percent boost in the demo from its last original two weeks ago, posting a 2.4/6. It had 11.3 million total viewers.
Fox took fourth place in the demo and total viewers with an average 2.0/5 and 6.8 million. "Bones" at 8 posted a 1.9/6 -- a series low -- and 7 million total viewers. "House" at 9 drew a 2.1/5 and 6.6 million total viewers.
The CW enjoyed a night of growth, with "Gossip Girl" at 8 jumping 20 percent in the demo for 0.6/2 with 1.1 million total viewers and "Hart of Dixie" also growing 20 percent in the demo, receiving a 0.6/1 and 1.3 million total viewers.
