'Walking Dead' star Jeffrey DeMunn joins Frank Darabont's 'LA Noir'

'Walking Dead' star Jeffrey DeMunn joins Frank Darabont's 'LA Noir'

Jeffrey DeMunn and Andrew Rothenberg have joined the cast of Frank Darabont's pilot LA Noir.

The TNT drama, set in the '40s and '50s, will focus on the conflict between the LAPD and the mob, led by gangster Mickey Cohen.

Both DeMunn and Rothenberg previously worked with Darabont on zombie series The Walking Dead.

Rothenberg wrote on Twitter: "Get ready Walking Dead fans, I'll be working with Frank Darabont, Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey DeMunn on LA Noir, a pilot for TNT!"

Rothenberg's character Jim was killed off in the The Walking Dead's first season, while DeMunn's Dale died in season two's 'Judge, Jury, Executioner'.

Darabont himself was fired from his role as the AMC drama's showrunner, reportedly following a dispute over budget.

Jon Bernthal - who played Shane on The Walking Dead - was previously cast in LA Noir as Los Angeles cop Joe Teague.

The pilot also stars Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes), Neal McDonough (Justified), Alexa Davalos (Clash of the Titans) and Simon Pegg (Star Trek).
