Richard Madeley has signed up to present a new ITV1 documentary show about squatters.
The former This Morning host will front a new series that will see him confront squatters and find out why they live in homes that they do not own.
He may also stay overnight in one of the squatters' dwellings for the project, reports The Sun.
A source said: "Richard is the perfect person to get involved with this show – he's not afraid of getting his hands dirty.
"He will be interviewing landlords as well as the squatters themselves.
"Richard does have pre-conceived ideas about squatters but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes.
"Some of the people he will talk to during filming have unexpected stories to tell."
The programme is scheduled to air on ITV1 in the autumn.
Steve Coogan recently said that he finds Richard Madeley "fascinating", but that he isn't the inspiration for his Alan Partridge character.
