Bill Maher's Tim Tebow tweet sparks HBO boycott
Bill Maher is no stranger to controversy. He was fired from his late night show on ABC after he made some controversial comments about the 9/11 hijackers. He then started up "Real Time with Bill Maher" on HBO, which is currently running, giving him a more permissive forum for his views.
Maher is back in the news again for a comment he made about football player Tim Tebow, and this time some people on Twitter are calling for a boycott of HBO in protest. After the Denver Broncos lost to the Buffalo Bills on Christmas Eve, Maher tweeted, "Wow, Jesus just fucked #TimTebow bad! And on Xmas Eve! Somewhere in hell Satan is tebowing, saying to Hitler 'Hey, Buffalo's killing them'"
Tebowing has become a well-used term and refers to getting down on one knee to pray in a crowd no matter what else is going on, something Tebow does frequently.
