There’s a new leader in the celebrity clubhouse for short marriages.
Sure Kim Kardashian ended her all-about-the-money, er, lifelong commitment to Kris Humphries after 72 days, but Irish songstress Sinead O’Connor did one better, ending her marriage to husband Barry Herridge after 16 days.
O’Connor broke the news on her blog, where she had previously posted pictures from their Las Vegas wedding.
O’Connor wrote that her husband felt “intense pressure” not to be involved with her and that the marriage was “kyboshed” within three hours of the ceremony because of the behavior of certain individuals in his life.
Know what else was to blame? Sinead’s search for a little weed, which she says was a “wild ride.” (How hard can it be for a “rock star” to find some herb?)
It soon became apparent to O’Connor that Herridge would lose too much staying with her.
“So.. U love someone? Set them free.”
Know how most people knew this marriage was doomed? They got married in Vegas in a pink Cadillac.
But O’Connor doesn’t regret it, because it “can’t get more Rock n Roll than that.”
