American Idol alum Danny Gokey, who famously lost his wife shortly before his Season 8 audition three years ago, is engaged to his girlfriend, Leyicet Peralta.
The pair plans to wed late next month, they announced on the website for Gokey's children's foundation, Sophia's Heart, which is named after his late wife.

"He is thrilled to have found Leyicet who also shares his passion and desire to help children and families in need," reads the message. Gokey and Peralta are requesting all gifts be in the form of a donation to Sophia's Heart.
"We are thankful for so many of the blessings God has given us," the couple says in a statement. "It is our desire to see homeless children and families be kept together and lifted back on their feet through the help of Sophia's Heart. We love and appreciate you all."
Sophia Gokey died in July 2008 from complications after a routine heart surgery. Four weeks later, Gokey auditioned for Idol and made it all the way to third place behind Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.
