Ron Howard is venturing into new territory. The award-winning filmmaker will executive producer TNT's first-ever reality competition, "The Great Escape."
The series will follow three teams as they compete for cash in castles, sinking ships, prisons and more action movie-esque locations each week. Howard, Brian Grazer and Bertram van Munster ("The Amazing Race") are among the executive producers of the show, which will be hosted by NFL Network star Rich Eisen.
“This is exactly the kind of fun, smart, unscripted competition show we’ve been looking for to complement TNT’s entertaining lineup of scripted dramas," TNT’s executive vice-president of programming Michael Wright said in a statement.
"The Great Escape" will kick off its 10-episode run on TNT this summer.
