Simon Cowell has blamed bad contestants for ratings dips in his reality shows, claiming that record-breaking viewing numbers will return in "a heartbeat" if they can find the right talent.
Cowell will be back as a full-time judge for the 2012 series of Britain's Got Talent. Speaking to Digital Spy at the ITV1 show's launch last week, the Syco boss insisted that the British public hadn't fallen out of love with his talent series.
"You know what, I think if you get great contestants everyone comes back," he told DS. "I think it's all about talent. I mean that great year we had with Susan Boyle and Diversity, I think if you had that same lineup, you'd get that 20 million back in a heartbeat."
