'The Voice's Justin Hopkins: 'Carson Daly support is great'
The Voice contestant Justin Hopkins has said that working with Cee Lo will help him decide what music genre is most suitable for him.
The 30-year-old singer from Redondo Beach, California, joined Team Cee Lo following a performance of 'Babylon' by David Gray on Monday night (February 20).
Speaking to reporters on a conference call, Hopkins said: "Cee Lo has so many different levels and for me musically, I've never really been able to grasp what it is exactly I wanted to accomplish.
"[Working with Cee Lo], the possibilities are endless. My goal is just to learn and be a sponge in this process.
"I've always been a little bit of a wild wheel and it's really nice to have something to focus on and have somebody to learn from versus doing everything on your own with your own reckless abandon."
Hopkins was previously a member of the Carson Daly show house band, and told reporters that he is grateful for Daly's continued support.
"To have Carson Daly really have my back on a show of this level [is great,]" he said. "It's been years since we worked together and he was such amazing cheerleader for us when we were on the band.
"To have him getting out there and giving us some recognition and love after probably about 300 shows since I last saw the man... It feels like a bit of a rebirth back to 2007."
