Ratings: 'NYC 22' Gets Soft Start; 'GCB' Hits Low; CBS Wins With 'Amazing Race'
CBS' new police drama "NYC 22" premiered soft Sunday night, but the network still enjoyed an overall win, according to preliminary numbers. ABC's "GCB," meanwhile, dropped to a ratings low.
CBS took first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and total viewers with an average 1.8 rating/5 share and 9.7 million total viewers. "60 Minutes" at 7 p.m., which featured a tribute to Mike Wallace, received a 1.4/5 in the demo, down 36 percent from last week. But it was the night's most-watched program in total viewers with 10.8 million. "The Amzing Race" at 8 took the night's top performance in the demo with a 2.5/7, and 9.2 million total viewers. "The Good Wife" at 9 was even with its last original airing three weeks ago, receiving a 1.8/4 and 10 million total viewers. The premiere of the Robert De Niro-produced "NYC 22" at 10, meanwhile, took a 1.5/4 -- a 32 percent decline compared to what "CSI: Miami" averaged in the time period this season. It had 8.9 million total viewers.
Fox took second place in the ratings and fourth place in total viewers with an average 1.7/5 and 3.8 million total viewers, with an evening heavy on repeats. Following reruns of "The Simpsons" and "The Cleveland Show," "The Simpsons" at 8 received a 2.2/7 in the demo, down slightly from its last original four weeks ago, and 4.9 million total viewers. "Bob's Burgers" at 8:30 received a 1.8/5 in the demo and 3.8 million total viewers. A 9 p.m. repeat of "Family Guy" was followed by "The Cleveland Show" at 9:30, which jumped 67 percent from its last original two weeks ago, posting a 2.0/5 in the demo and 4.3 million total viewers.
NBC came in third in the demo and second in total viewers with an average 1.6/5 and 6.5 million. "Dateline" at 7 was up 30 percent in the demo from last week with an average 1.3/4 and 4.8 million. "Harry's Law" the following hour was down 10 percent in the demo with a 0.9/3 and 8.1 million total viewers. "The Apprentice" at 9 ran even with last week, taking a 2.1/5 in the demo and 6.6 million total viewers.
ABC took fourth place in the demo and third in total viewers with an average 1.3/3 and 4.8 million. "America's Funniest Home Videos" at 7 was up 25 percent in the demo from its last original three weeks ago, receiving a 1.5/5 with 6.3 million total viewers. Following a "Once Upon a Time" repeat at 8, the ABC special "Titanic" the following hour drew a 0.9/2 in the demo and 4.2 million total viewers. "GCB" at 10 fell 21 percent in the demo, receiving its lowest rating to date with a 1.5/4 and 4.5 million total viewers.
