'The Apprentice' Jenna Whittingham: 'I've never watched the show'
Ex-Apprentice candidate Jenna Whittingham has revealed that she never watched an episode of the show.
The bridal shop owner from Lancashire, who was fired over her "cheesy" English sparkling wine advert yesterday (May 16), admitted that she only watched "a few clips" of last year's series before applying.
To be honest with you - this sounds really awful - but I haven't really watched every single series," Metro quotes her as saying.
"It was a case of last year when they announced it was going to be the investment that I watched a few clips and put my application in because I genuinely wanted to get an investment."
Speaking to Digital Spy after her firing, Whittingham admitted that she was "shocked" to be singled out by Lord Sugar over colleagues Ricky Martin and Stephen Brady.
"I was quite surprised in the boardroom with Stephen," she said. "In one breath he changes from saying, 'I worked with Jenna on the video' to 'it was Jenna's idea'.
"I was quite shocked in the boardroom. None of them challenged me at all and I never needed to defend myself or fight my corner at all."
The Apprentice continues Wednesdays at 9pm on BBC One.
