'Only Fools and Horses' US remake to be 'redeveloped'
ABC's remake of Only Fools and Horses is likely to be redeveloped.
The network recently revealed its schedule for the 2012-13 season, but the UK comedy revamp was not picked up to series.
However, ABC president Paul Lee is reportedly a fan of the project and is keen to film a second pilot, according to Deadline.
Romeo + Juliet star John Leguizamo was cast as Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter in the remake, with stand-up comic Dustin Ybarra playing his brother Rodney.
Back to the Future's Christopher Lloyd also starred as the pair's grandfather, while Happy Endings actor BJ Bales played the character of Trigger, who was reinvented as a 'ghetto-talking con man' and Del and Rodney's 'perpetual enemy'.
Original Only Fools and Horses star David Jason has spoken out against ABC's remake, claiming that the show's humour won't "travel across the pond".
"It might work but you've got to change it so much that, in the change, in order to Americanise it, do you lose the whole concept of the piece?" the 72-year-old actor queried.
