Gareth Malone's 'The Choir' heading to USA network
Gareth Malone's The Choir is to be made for American television by the cable network USA.
The BAFTA Award-winning UK series, which last year produced the chart-topping Military Wives, assembles singers from different backgrounds to train together before they give an orchestrated performance.
The project, which has aired on BBC Two since 2006, was shown on BBC America in the summer of 2010.
In other reality show commissions unveiled today, the USA network has ordered a pilot for "bromantic comedy" Bride or Best Man, which sees the groom and the best man plan their wedding.
Meanwhile, Romancing the Globe offers participants the chance to scour the world for love, and The Moment gives people the option of a second chance in their dream job.
USA co-presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel said in a joint statement: "As we move into the world of reality programming, we're staying true to our brand DNA by focusing on real life characters that are every bit as fascinating, inspirational and entertaining as our scripted ones.
"These unscripted series let us welcome characters of all types, which will continue to broaden our appeal to audiences."
