'Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens: 'I really need to star in a comedy'
Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens has revealed that he would love to star in a comedy.
The actor is currently filming the third season of Downton Abbey as well as appearing in the dramatic film Summer in February, a story of scandal in an Edwardian artist colony.
In an interview with The AP, Stevens admitted that he'd like his next role to be more light-hearted.
"I would like to do something modern and possibly funny," the actor revealed. "I seem to have not had many laughs for a while, so that would be nice."
Stevens went on to say that he's enjoyed reprising the role of Matthew Crawley for Downton Abbey's next series and especially loved working with new castmember Shirley MacLaine.
He and Dame Maggie Smith have been rumoured to be considering leaving Downton Abbey following the third series, but producer Carnival recently denied any contractual issues.
