'Sons of Anarchy' to get prequel series?
Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has confirmed that he is interested in making a prequel series.
The proposed project would focus on the members of SAMCRO's 'First 9', Sutter revealed at a PaleyFest panel in Beverly Hills.
"I see it as a different show," he explained. "Not a continuation or another version of Sons of Anarchy but a more political and socially historical sort of show."
He added: "I definitely have some interest in doing it. I'd like to explore it in some capacity."
Sutter also claimed that no Sons of Anarchy cast members would appear in the new series.
"Nobody on this stage would be with me," he announced.
Sons of Anarchy was picked up for a fifth run back in October. A sixth season of the FX biker drama was then commissioned before the fifth had aired, with a seventh also under consideration.
Sutter suggested in February that Sons could even continue into an eighth season and beyond.
"If there's more story to be told after seven seasons and if financially it's still a feasible endeavour, I'm definitely open to doing more," he admitted.
The fourth season of Sons of Anarchy concluded on December 6. Thirteen new episodes are expected to air in late 2012.
