'Entourage's Jeremy Piven in talks to star in ITV's 'Mr Selfridge'
Jeremy Piven has started negotiations with ITV to star in upcoming drama Mr Selfridge, it has been revealed.
Announced last week, the series will centre around the founder of Selfridges, Harry Gordon Selfridge.
Deadline reports that the Emmy-winning actor, best known for his role as Ari Gold in US comedy Entourage, is in talks to play the American entrepreneur.
Written by Andrew Davies and set in 1909, the period piece is based on the book Shopping, Seduction And Mr Selfridge.
Production on Mr Selfridge, the idea for which emerged last year, is due to begin in April.
Expected to air sometime in 2013, Mr Selfridge has been commissioned for ten episodes.
