'The Talk' Renewed for Third Season
"The Talk" will live to gab another season.
The daytime yakfest has been renewed for the 2012-2013 season, CBS said on Wednesday, with the series returning for its third go-round in September.
"The Talk" -- which features Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler holding forth on pressing topics of the day -- showed modest growth in this year's February sweep, climbing 10 percent among the key demo of women 25-54 and four percent in total viewership.
“We’re proud that 'The Talk' has already established great brand identity in only its second season,” David Stapf, president of CBS Television Studios said of the renewal. “Much of the success can be attributed to our hosts’ chemistry and the work of our producers, whose selection of topics and guests are clearly resonating with viewers.”
The hosts' chemistry was altered significantly last year, when former co-hosts Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete were shown the door prior to the show's second-season premiere last September.
