'GCB': Philadelphia pulls adverts from ABC's drama
Philadelphia has pulled its advertising from ABC's new drama GCB.
The show, which had an original title of Good Christian Bitches, has been the centre of controversy over its representation of Christians since it premiered to 7.6m viewers on Sunday.
Philadelphia has now confirmed that it will no longer advertise during the Leslie Bibb series, TMZ reports.
"Philadelphia has decided to pull its advertising from GCB," a spokesperson said. "We have received a few complaints from consumers and their opinions about our advertising are important to us.
"We have recently decided to redirect our advertising to other programmes."
New York City councilman Peter Vallone has also criticised GCB, describing it as "yet another outrageous attack on the Christian faith" and calling for a boycott.
However, the show's executive producer Robert Harling has previously insisted that the series is not "disrespectful" to Christians, while star Kristin Chenoweth has said that she would never "make fun of [her] own faith".
GCB continues on Sunday at 10/9c on ABC.
